Memory 79
Memory: The strike team takes the Vong ship.
Received: Day 299, night
Form: Tiny apple pie; up to two uses.
Summary: The Jedi strike team is captive on a Yuuzhan Vong ship -- JUST AS PLANNED. Once the ship is past the Vong interdiction lines, they escape and take over for their mission to eliminate a weapon against Force users.

There's 17 teenage Jedi in the Myrkr strike team at the beginning, and this is the closest to the beginning Jaina's remembered so far. The roster includes: the Young Jedi Knights (Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, Lowbacca, Zekk, Anakin, Tahiri, Raynar); and a mixture of humans and aliens. They're in holding on the Vong ship Exquisite Death, and they're all in bad shape from torture and interrogation. One of the team members -- a girl named Eryl -- has the uncanny ability to sense where they are on a galactic scale. It's finally time to turn the tables. The trouble is, the Vong have discovered ysalamiri on the planet Myrkr, which are tree-bound critters that suppress the Force. Since the Vong consider Jedi the main obstacle to galactic conquest, they came prepared for transporting captives with ysalamiri.
They've planned for that, too. Anakin whispers a command into a subcutaneous implant, activating a pair of Lando's war droids: the Terminator-esque Yuuzhan Vong Hunters, which by the plan would have attached themselves to the Exquisite Death's outer hull along with a pod of supplies and the team's weapons. A Vong guard hits Anakin for speaking before continuing his rounds. It's a few more minutes of waiting, restrained by disgusting "blorash jelly" before they hear a serious of thuds, then muffled explosive decompression. The droids are blowing their way into the ship. The team can see the membrane that serves as doors to the hold bow out until they stiffen protectively against space. The Vong guards react; there's ten arranging themselves. Jaina knows from rehearsing the plan that at the moment one droid will be guarding the entry point while the other seals the hull breach they made. The guard leader attempts to peer through the door membrane, which is slightly opaque, and that's when the droids move on to the next step, exterminating the enemy. His head is blown off by a laser cannon's bolt, with two more quickly gunned down. One of the droids crashes through into the hold, icy from coming in from space. It continues to gun down Vong while lifting an electric device to start zapping ysalamiri. Guards start to turn to the kids, since it's obvious what the droid's objective is, but they're efficiently dispatched, now adding small rockets to the laser barrage. Two lizard Barabel Jedi named Tesar and Krasov tear free of the tips of their tails to get loose and kill the final Vong. The droid suffers only minor damage.
Anakin takes charge as the team finishes freeing themselves, then gather their weapons and finish getting rid of the ysalamiri. The YVH droids are super big on efficiency, and are proud to report they're fifteen seconds ahead of schedule. They've already bombed part of the ship with coma gas and think they've killed three Jedi-hunting Voxyn lizards. Rodent-like Jedi named Tekli goes about applying first aid while the droids brief them. Turns out the Exquisite Death is a corvette-analogue ship, with two floors but an excessive amount of ductwork for the enemy to take to. The team suits up with sabers, blasters and grenades, and divide into two squads. Jacen establishes an empathic battle meld to keep them all in a kind of hive mind, and they go about finishing off the Vong crew. Jaina's assigned to the second squad, which is mainly doing support to keep the others defended. She can feel that Anakin and Jacen are arguing about something throughout.
Jaina and one of the YVH droids kill one of the remaining voxyn, but she can still feel the hunger of its kind; Anakin comms her to let her know there's still another in the ductwork. They finish -- about two and a half minutes ahead of schedule, according to the droids. They break up to secure the ship, set course and get to work finishing recovery. Jaina, Zekk and wookie Lowbacca work on repairing battle damage to the droids then, ever the gear head bros, start studying the ship's biotech.
Aside from the hard structure being made of a sort of coral, they've discovered the ship has an actual brain. It bewilders Jaina -- she's not good at biological things -- but Lowie goes about playing with it until he finally gets it to follow commands. A few more finishing touches fixing up the droids again, then some more medical attention and rest before the team assembles on the ship's command center.
They're arriving in the Myrkr system.
